REQUESTING REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

Patients who are on regular medication may be able to request repeat prescriptions without seeing the doctor. You can request repeat prescriptions online, by post, by email or via your pharmacy. Please note, we are not currently allowing patients to request or collect prescriptions in person from the surgery.  We no longer accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone or by fax.

Repeat prescriptions take 2 working days to produce, (3 days if they go to a chemist).

To request a repeat prescription online, visit your online access provider, or the NHS App.  If the medication you require is missing please call us on 01298 22338.  Items can temporarily disappear from your repeat medication list for a number of reasons. If you can't access one of these providers but would like to request your prescription online you can email our dedicated prescriptions email address, quoting your full name, address, date of birth and the full names and dosages of the medication you require.  Please call to ask for the address.

LOCAL CHEMISTS

You can arrange for us to send your prescription to any of the pharmacies in Buxton and Fairfield. Please speak to one of the receptionists to nominate a pharmacy.  For information about local chemists, click here.  Information on pharmacy rotas for Sundays and bank holidays is usually given in the Buxton Advertiser under 'Health,' click on Buxton Advertiser Health.

MEDICATION REVIEWS

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
